Taking Coconut Oil with omega 3 fatty acids can increase the uptake of both types of oils (fats). Coconut Oil can also assist, when taken with medium-chain omega 3’s, the conversion of medium chain omega 3’s (such as in flax and hempseed) to long-chain omega 3’s (what we need for our brain and what is found in fish oil).

You can include Coconut Oil in your diet, or put Coconut Oil on your teeth to clean off bacteria. Coconut Oil can also be used topically. Our skin consists mostly (60+%) of saturated fat and therefore Coconut Oil contains fats rarely found in high enough quantities in skin creams.

How I Lost 75 Lbs In 3 Months Just Eating Raw Foods http://www.longevitynowvideos.com/sunfood-diet/how-i-lost-75-lbs-in-3-months-just-eating-raw-foods http://www.longevitynowvideos.com/sunfood-diet/how-i-lost-75-lbs-in-3-months-just-eating-raw-foods#comments Wed, 28 Jul 2010 20:49:14 +0000 admin http://www.longevitynowvideos.com/sunfood-diet/how-i-lost-75-lbs-in-3-months-just-eating-raw-foods http://www.superfoodhealthyliving.com/article-Marine-Phytoplankton.html

After struggling with chronic fatigue for years, which slowed my metabolism, I gained more weight than ever before. I got most of my health back on a diet that averaged about 80% raw foods, with lots of cleansing and detoxifying. But after four years eating mostly raw, I still had a long way to go.

I finally woke up one day and realized that it was time to go 100% raw – it was like stepping out of a fat suit into my real body. The fat was disappearing, almost magically, virtually overnight. I didnt even exercise (though I do now).

Of course, years of cleansing, detoxifying and rebuilding my digestive and immune systems prepared my body for losing a lot of weight and – even more importantly – keeping it off In fact, I was dropping weight so fast I had to eat lots of nuts, olives and avocados to slow it down. Over the next few months I lost 75 lbs. I kept that weight off for almost two years. Since then, it has been an ongoing struggle – yes, even for me.

Though I have kept most of it off on a mostly raw diet (90-100% raw), I have a tendency to occasionally fall off the wagon – like most normal people! So last year, after gaining back about 50 lbs., I went did a 3-week cleanse and a strict raw diet, and lost about 35 lbs. in about two months. Of course results vary from person to person, and may change with what’s going on in your life – like they did for me.

This isn’t magic – it’s enzymes! My metabolism slows down when I make less-than-optimal food choices, then kicks back in when I go back to what I know is right. I think it’s perfectly normal to slip occasionally, so long as I get back on track eventually. Raw food works for me, and I decided to make it my lifes mission to help it work for you, too!

As we grow older, our bones start to corrode, which to some degree is standard and a natural result of aging. However, many of us lose so much bone that our skeletons become weakened and misshapen and in harsh cases we attract loss of bone density in multiple places. That’s osteoporosis, and it often causes breaks of the hip, backbone and forearm. At its worst, bones can become so fragile that they can crack and break under the body’s own weight! The meaning of the term osteoporosis originates from osteo, meaning bone, and porosis which implies thinning or getting more porous. Hence, osteoporosis means thinning of bone.

Medically talking, Osteoporosis is an illness of the bone in which the bone mineral density ( BMD ) is reduced that means one has a low bone mass and disintegrating bone tissue. In one-syllable words, the bones become thin, crisp and will be simply damaged. Bone mass ( bone density ) is the quantity of bone present in the skeletal structure. The bigger the density the stronger are the bones.

We’ve known some folks to consume up to twenty pounds of cacao products a month. Then these same folks get a headache and have other important reactions and then saying that raw chocolate is poison! Talk about stimulating! Maybe with David’s new book of condensed and accessible, well-organized superfood info and research, we can’t hear these stories any more and folk will take more care before they guzzle superfoods like they’re pints of blueberries.

That said, superfoods can act as “food”. As David mentions in the book, superfoods are still “foods” and can be consumed in bigger quantities than medical herbs. We both had massive nibbles of trail mix that include goji berries and cacao that have satisfied us for hours on end, but with simply a little few of trail mix. In Conventional Chinese Drugs , the recommended dose of goji berries is one few a day, maximum. Anything beyond that may be too much.

The SuperFood Food Triangle by David Wolfe http://www.longevitynowvideos.com/david-wolfe/the-superfood-food-triangle-by-david-wolfe http://www.longevitynowvideos.com/david-wolfe/the-superfood-food-triangle-by-david-wolfe#comments Fri, 14 May 2010 01:21:03 +0000 admin http://www.longevitynowvideos.com/david-wolfe/the-superfood-food-triangle-by-david-wolfe http://www.superfoodhealthyliving.com/article-Marine-Phytoplankton.html

David Wolfe teaches that the secret to succeeding on a raw food diet and achieving high levels of health is a balance between three essential classes of food. Those classes make up the raw food triangle. Through his experiences of meeting hundreds of raw foodists and studying what works and what doesnt he discovered a pattern.

The three essential foods are green-leafy vegetables, sweet fruits, and fatty foods. The three provide chlorophyll, sugars, and fats. Lacking any of these foods results in nutritional imbalance. In Wolfes travels, all successful raw foodists followed this pattern. People lacking one of these food groups always ran into trouble.

In most cases Wolfe calls for the three foods to be eaten in equal quantities. And for the best results all three food classes should be eaten every day. David personally suggests having sweet fruits as the main meal in the morning, green-leafy vegetables at lunch, and fats in the evening.

Green-leafy vegetables provide chlorophyll; chlorophyll is the blood of plants. Just like the old Popeye cartoons we get our strength from spinach (and lettuce and kale and parsley and dandelion greens and). We get calcium, iron, magnesium, and other minerals. Greens help detoxify the liver. They alkalize our body chemistry, balancing acid-forming minerals found in nuts, seeds, avocados, and animal products.

Sugar comes to us through sweet fruits. Sugar is the fuel that runs our bodies and brains. We need fruit for energy. However, too much fruit can overstimulate the endocrine system and acidify the blood. Therefore, fruit needs to be balanced with green-leafy vegetables and fats. (This is something the natural hygiene people would disagree with.)

In terms of silica and magnesium, well we know we can get a lot of magnesium from nuts, and especially three nuts: macadamia nuts, cashew, and cacao. And thats one of the reasons why people really have that craving for those three.

Another reason is that we have not enough green leafy-vegetables in the diet, and thats another source of magnesium, and thats also another great source of silica and calcium. But the best source of silica is usually something that we dont have in health food stores, such as nettles, or something like horsetail, or something like hemp leaf.

We have to really look at all these factors.

In a more general way, how would that be that some people set themselves up for these problems, maybe on a more psychological level?

I think what happens is that people take their emotional stuff into whatever diet theyre doing. For example, people who had been abusing refined sugar on a normal diet will start eating massive amounts of dates or sweet fruit on a raw-food diet.

So whatever predisposition of abuse in relation to food that people have, generally they take it with them in whatever diet they try. With raw foods, you have to be a little bit more careful because this food has real energy. Its really powerful and also very cleansing. To eat 50 dates is very different than eating refined sugar.

Refined sugar is more of a toxin, but dates can be a cleanser. The fruit sugar can act like a solvent and start breaking down toxic deposits. Eating too much sweet fruit and too much sugar, which is a very strong solvent, may be a cause of bone loss and tooth decay.

Superfood Smoothie by David Wolfe http://www.longevitynowvideos.com/david-wolfe/superfood-smoothie-by-david-wolfe http://www.longevitynowvideos.com/david-wolfe/superfood-smoothie-by-david-wolfe#comments Sat, 10 Apr 2010 09:06:12 +0000 admin http://www.longevitynowvideos.com/david-wolfe/superfood-smoothie-by-david-wolfe http://www.superfoodhealthyliving.com/article-Marine-Phytoplankton.html

The cornerstone to David Wolfes raw food diet, in his own personal life, is a superfood smoothie. In a number of videos and interviews he discusses his daily smoothie and how he makes it.
The following recipe is taken from an interview demonstration Wolfe gave on the Internet television show Healthy Living shown on Supreme Master Television. The smoothie begins with a base of coconut water taken from a young Thai coconut. As an alternative you could use spring water, tea, or even coffee. Along with the water of the coconut Wolfe adds the meat to the drink also.

Next comes cacao. The cacao bean is what chocolate is made from. Wolfe uses about a tablespoon of the cacao nibs, a half-tablespoon of the powder, and a half-tablespoon of the cacao butter.
Following the base of water and cacao Wolfe includes two cups of frozen berries, strawberries, raspberries and or wild blueberries. He suggests that including foods of the full spectrum of color is best because that provides all of the possible anti-oxidants. In addition to the frozen fruit acai and goji berries are used.

Wolfe then puts in a handful of cashews for fat and flavor along with superfoods maca, hemp seeds, and spirulina. And that is it—David Wolfes superfood smoothie. David usually has this as a late morning breakfast. He usually has a large salad at 7 pm for his other meal of the day and snacks on fruits, nuts and seeds, and juices in between.

Many raw-foodists experience problems after many years on the diet, such as osteoporosis (low bone density), tooth decay, and deficiencies. How do you explain these failures to thrive on the raw vegan diet?

Thats a great question. Lets look at low bone density. There are a few factors involved. One is an insufficient amount of magnesium in the diet, or an insufficient amount of silica in the diet, or a detoxification process which is too much, too fast, and which leaves one deplete of magnesium, silica, calcium and iron.

Also, theres a hormonal aspect to this. We find that some people, if theyre not getting the proper raw materials, cannot produce the proper hormones. For example, if someone gets too estrogenic, they will start losing bone mass.

So we need to have foods that are testosterone builders or progesterone builders, or that build DHEA. Foods like that are coconut oil, yam, maca, evening primrose oil, the fennel class of foods, and many other specific foods that do that. These foods can give you the proper hormone-building materials. That still may not be enough for some certain people.

If its not, then I recommend going with a unique type of coconut product called pregnenelone (which has already been reacted along the path with the metabolic pathway towards producing progesterone, and/or testosterone). That is a supplement, but its really coming from a food.
