Most people have access to better quality food (when they are not in a fast food of course). We eat a lot better. I actually know of a lot of 70+ people who don’t take any medication….

Did you know that the single biggest ever health innovation and "discovery" in the world is still higiene. Yep, good old soap and healthy un genetically and chemically modified foods

You are unbelievably gulible. Thousands of years ago, people were lucky to live to be 40. It's thanks to science, which has fought against the plauge known as religion, that we live to be 80. It's people such as yourself, that believe anything some old book tells you, that are the reason the greatness of medical science was not achieved a milenia sooner.

I actually learned an interresting fact today and thought I’d tell you. The moon moves farther away from the earth every year by 1.6 inch. THerefore i believe as time progresses the days become longer causing us to live longer. Its kind of a form of revolution (change over time)but its the distance from the moon and earth that is changing. Which might be another explanation on why we do have revolution. so maybe the years were just shorter back then. because the days are longer now. I know its not a religous answer but thats the answer.

First of all, I respectfully disagree with the idea that people ever lived for "hundreds of years." The Bible is not, ahem, entirely accurate about everything.

The reason that people are living longer now than, say, a hundred years ago is thanks to advances in science and medicine. Anti-biotics, the idea of "infection," and more knowledge about how various substances we come in contact with can affect our life-spans have helped us to live longer.

The thing that I need to point out is that when we talk about lifespans, we’re generally talking about averages. There is no reason that someone who lived three-hundred years ago could not live to be ninety. In fact, some of them did. It’s just that on average people’s lifespans were shorter then than they are today.

I know what scripture you're talking about in relation to 70 years, it's in Psalms. The scripture's actually saying that God will give us at least seventy years. With proper health the scripture says we will live longer. If I can find the verse I'll add it.
