Can forcing lenses into frames affect the longevity and durability of the frames?

If lenses are forced into frames (they do not fit and the bottoms are not even able to fit completely into the frame) can this affect the longevity and durability of the frames? What can happen in this situation?

I presume you are talking about a plastic frame.

Forcing the wrong shape into it can certainly cause the frame to split a lot sooner than it should.

It will definitely weaken the integrity of the frame.

what footprintz said.. also if the lens is to large for the frame and forced in, if the frame doesn’t break. the lens may start to bow, and push itself out of the frame
