Well, what can Brother Echo say about David Wolfe that a million people haven’t already said? Hmm how about the simple truth. The simple truth is this man is BIGGER than life. David has so much charisma, charm and joy in his heart it’s infectious. If you ever wonder why people clamor to attend David Wolfe events it’s no mystery, it’s because he’s the real deal, the genuine article and he knows his food inside and out!

A couple days ago Brother Echo attended a 3-hour in-store tour and talk hosted by David Wolfe. David started out the evening with a tour of the store starting in the produce section. David went through pretty much all the produce and explained in fascinating detail the medicinal benefits of the most mundane fruit like the lemon for example. What was really astonishing is that every question from the audience David didn’t skip a beat and had and answer for them immediately.

If Erewhon was the wild, wild, west… David Wolfe would have been Wyatt Earp. A Dragon Fruit toting nutritionist gun slinger with knowledge as his ammunition… shooting down any who oppose him!

After getting the hour and a half download on fruit, veggies, herbs and roots we all made our way to the Raw food section of the store where David explained how in the years prior at Erewhon the Raw food section was only a couple items. It was very inspiring to hear him talk about how much the store has grown in parallel with the Los Angeles living foods community.

After hearing some of David’s nostalgic stories we made our way to the Erewhon Tonic bar where Truth Calkins and crew awaited the mob of RAWcateers, (uh, yeah I just made up another silly word with RAW in it)!

Anyhow, we gathered at the tonic bar and from there David explained how to make a seriously potent medicinal smoothie. The smoothie he made had everything from Astragalus to fulvic acid all the basis were covered. After the smoothies were made they were dispensed amongst the minions and David made his way to the table on the other side of the store to sign books, take pictures and answer questions.

After all the buzz and book signing David and I made a break for the produce section again and that’s where we had our interview. In the interview we talk about everything from Erewhons humble beginnings, new grounding technology and David’s new foundation “The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation”.

David was a pleasure to interview, really personable and easy to talk with. It felt like I had already met him before, kind of like we were picking up from a conversation that didn’t get finished before.
