Do you eat organic …
Do you eat organic chocolates and ice-creams as well?…Do you stick only to a raw food diet or do you mix it up sometimes with organic cooked foods?
you can TOTALLY be …
you can TOTALLY be a marathon runner and be raw, get informed!
And yet the diet …
And yet the diet seems to have had dreadful consequences for his sense of style…
Check out an …
Check out an account on youtube called “runningraw,” i think it might interest you.
Yeah I know what …
Yeah I know what you mean! I’m a distance runner tooand I feel the same. I’m not a raw foodist but I think it’s doable, maybe you’d have to eat more calorie from fat, also you have to understand that you spend a lot less energy on digesting food so you’d need less calorie! Beans and grains could still be eaten so having enough carbs(complex carbs not sugar) should not be that hard.
When in doubt, go …
When in doubt, go with nature. Cows milk for adult humans is not natural.
Quinoa is actually a seed, as is millet and buckwheat…..no grain issues, and can be eaten raw(make SURE its raw=sproutable). There OK cooked too.
Lentels can be eaten raw.
Vitamin D – Get Sun. The Sun also has other benefits.
Protein is a non-issue.
i really like the …
i really like the idea of eating raw food, but if i’m a distance runner, how can i get enough calories in carbs without eating things like bread and mashed potatoes? This is my only problem with this diet. I realize a person normally doesn’t need alot of calories if the calories are nutritious, but no matter what you eat, if you’re running 14 miles a day, you need a lot of calories. Any input is appreciated……
what is he talking …
what is he talking about with the chewing/seratonin connection? i never heard about that.
Another thing that …
Another thing that I know for certain from reading scientific articles, experience, anthropology is that wheat is not good at all. Some can take beans, lentils, some not. You try what is best for you. You never have to worry about good protein or calcium if you eat fat fish, meat, eggs, and cheese. My diet now is more like the paleo but still with a lots of cucumbers, fat fish, butter and french cheese. I make almond breads and cover it with slices of BUTTER and cheese, cooffe with full cream
ieatsalad, o …
ieatsalad, o and peace be with you. I understand exactly how you feel. i can’t take any of the gurus word for nothing since they differ in so many cases. Like Wolfe in the above about wild greens. How does he know and is it really true etc. So, What I do is simply go back in history and study what native people eat/ate and what grows in my own natural environment, and then eat what makes me feel good in the long run(forever!). I never count calories. I try and keep it natural, raw or not
Thanks for sharing …
Thanks for sharing that info about the dairy and the eggs.
The 100% thing is very perplexing. Do I be 80% raw with the exception of beans and lentils and gluten wheat free things like quinoa? Or do I go 80% raw with some eggs and raw goat cheese? Which is healthier? I’ve read in so many places that the grains will just ferment and damage my insides, and we all hear about the negative effects of meat. I just want facts with out an agenda.
Yes, I think that …
Yes, I think that some try to make money on the diet, why else call it: “Secret Diet Revealed” etc. RawModel was my #1 role model for some time purely because he didn’t started to sell stuff, write books or being boheme about the diet. He seemed to be outside that circus, and loved him for that. So natural and just being himself. No weird stuff going on, kind of, you know. But every good thing comes to an end. Shockingly, but still an end. Now; no gurus involved. I eat what i eat to feel good.
I eat massive …
I eat massive amounts of vegetables.
Paul Nison is a …
Paul Nison is a fraud like David Wolfe. They are using the raw food movement to make a profit.
According to ‘ …
According to ‘rawmodel’ many do use drugs but are afraid to come forward about it. raw guru had to incorporate dairy(raw)because of declining health on simply raw fruits etc. Paul Nison does it. Rev Nazariah admits that raw goats milk for example saved his health once…if you want to be 100 % raw without the dairy, you must check your vitamin D, among other things. Especially children don’t seem to do well without it. Shazzie’s daughter eat eggs.very few can do 100% without dairy etc long term.
Yeah, I personally …
Yeah, I personally think it’s thanks to these minerals in some fruit and almost every vegetable (especially leafy ones).. The question is, do you eat veggies ?
I don’t use salt, I …
I don’t use salt, I lift weights, I practice martial arts and I don’t have a problem with fluid balance. As a matter of fact, I ate salty foods a few times after I became a raw foodist and the salt made me sick.

MillieMateo,

MillieMateo,
Sodium is in chilli peppers, some seaweed and tomatoes and chloride is in leafy vegetables and melon fruit.. But I’m not as educated as you yet, looks like you are studying biochemistry.. But really arn’t these sourcess reliable ? Just asking
Too much or too …
Too much or too little salt in the diet can lead to muscle cramps, dizziness, or even an electrolyte disturbance, which can cause severe, even fatal, neurological problems.
Drinking too much water, with insufficient salt intake, puts a person at risk of water intoxication (hyponatremia). Salt is even sometimes used as a health aid, such as in treatment of dysautonomia.
Total BS..Chloride …
Total BS..Chloride and sodium ions, the two major components of salt, are necessary for the survival of all known living creatures, including humans. Salt is involved in regulating the water content (fluid balance) of the body. Sodium is one of the primary electrolytes in the body. All four cationic electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium) are available in unrefined salt, as are other vital minerals needed for optimal bodily function.
Sorry guys but in …
Sorry guys but in my opinion, Dadid Wolfe is just businessman.
He sells his “raw” cashews, cacao, a overpriced supplements. cashews are hidden in poison shell, it’s not meant to be eatten. There’s caffeine in cacao, which stimulates your brain, even raw, and it’s addicting. And supperfoods synthetic supplements.. Scam. Eat your broccoli, blueberries, salatas, whatever and you have everything you need.. Greens are the key, not some over-priced powder
I saw a lecture …
I saw a lecture with David Wolfe where he gave a ‘teaser’ about some super-foods that could heal a specific illness. A woman responded, “I’m a poor single mother. I don’t really have extra money to spend”
Wolfe replied: “Subscribe to my website, and you’ll get all this information.”
IMO, that was pretty cold.
A fantastic book on …
A fantastic book on eating healthy and taking the right supplements is “Formula For Life” by
Eberhard and Phyliss Kronhausen. As a testimony or ‘proof’, both authors have been systematically and thoroughly examined by MDS.
The docs testified that both of them were AT LEAST 10-15 years younger than their “real”
ages,

Meal volume is …
Meal volume is about 700 calories for an average individual and about 1000 calories for an athletic individual. This is a rough estimate.
Yes, eating less, as in 2 meals a day is actually good for the body. But grazing won’t cut it because the concept behind eating less is, giving the digestive system a rest. You see, the body only begins to heal itself when it is not digesting food.
Well, I agree with …
Well, I agree with most things you’ve said, but what is “meal volume” The amount of food we now eat is a cultural thing and we all over eat. I feel much better when I eat smaller meals all day and graze over simply eating three meals a day. Less food is actually “more” and much better for your health. Most people die from eating too much food. I’ll check out that video you recommend.
